Definition: According to psychologist Albert Bandura, it is the interaction between three important forces that produces personality. These three components are the individual, the environment, and the behavior itself. Bandura refers to the interaction of these factors as reciprocal determinism. The environment can influence our thoughts and our behavior, our thoughts can influence both our behavior and how we interact with our environment, and our behavior can impact the environment as well as the way that we think. The three elements all influence each other in a reciprocal way.
