If you've always dreamed of becoming a therapist or working in the field of mental health, you might be under the impression that earning a doctorate degree in clinical psychology is the only way to go. Fortunately, there are plenty of alternative degree options that can still lead to a career in the mental health field.

Clinical psychology does make up the single largest employment area in the field, but some other options include counseling psychology, social work, and counseling.
