
April is Stress Awareness Month, so it is a great time to learn more about how to manage stress. Students often deal with stress from a variety of sources including academic deadlines, financial concerns, and time management issues. While stress is a part of life you simply cannot avoid, it is important to understand what to do when your stress level becomes unhealthy.
I recently asked readers of our Facebook page what strategies they use to manage stress. Several people listed activities such as painting, writing, cooking, listening to music, exercising, and talking to friends as great ways to de-stress. In her list of 5-minute stress relief strategies, Elizabeth Scott, black-rose-bielefeld.de's Guide to Stress Management, suggests breathing exercises, laughter, aromatherapy, and quick burst of exercise can be beneficial.
