Definition: Do people often describe you as warm, enthusiastic, and creative? Then you might just be an ENFP, one of the 16 different personality types identified by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) The MBTI was developed by Isabel Myers and her mother Katherine Briggs and based upon Carl Jung's theory of personality types, which categorizes personality based on preferences across four key dimensions.

People with the ENFP personality type have excellent people skills and are very empathetic. They tend to be future-focused and are good at coming up with innovative and creative ideas. According to psychologist David Keirsey, this personality type is fairly rare, accounting for just three to four percent of the population.

Learn more about the characteristics of this type in this overview of the ENFP personality.
