Definition: ISTJ might look like a confusing acronym, but it actually represents one of the 16 personality types identified by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The MBTI is based upon Carl Jung's theory of personality types and categorizes personality based on four different dimensions.
In this case, ISTJ stands for introversion, sensing, thinking and judging. People with this personality type are often described as quiet, detail-oriented and organized. According to psychologist David Keirsey, approximately 10 to 14 percent of all people have and ISTJ personality type.
