If you've missed the excellent PBS series NOVA scienceNOW, then you can still check out the episodes you've missed on their website. Be sure to check out the episode "How the Brain Works" to learn more about the inner workings of the human brain. Some highlights from the episode include learning how the brain plays a role in magic tricks and the development of the artificial intelligence supercomputer Watson, which recently gained headlines on Jeopardy.
I haven't had a chance to watch all of the episodes available online yet, but some other topics the show has covered that may be of interest to psychology students include animal intelligence, aging and evolution.
