Psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud believed that dreams provided insight into the unconscious mind; that dreams carried meaning and that the interpretation of these dreams could reveal hidden desires and wishes. While modern theories about the meaning of dreams vary considerably, there is little doubt that dreams serve as a source of major interest and even inspiration for many people.

The Experience Project and Honda have an interesting project going on this month as part of their Dream the Impossible documentary series. As part of the project, they are asking a series of questions related to the effects of dreams on waking life. Participants are encouraged to share their thoughts, ideas and questions about how dreams impact daily life.
"Both nightmares and dreams can help us become more aware of ourselves. They bring strange ways of looking at things. They bring new perspectives, and in that way the dream is very creative," explains artist Alice Willieme in a short film featured on the Experience Project site.
