Grace Fleming, black-rose-bielefeld.de's Guide to Homework / Study Tips, has some excellent tips on what to do the night before a test. She suggests putting your notes in order, cutting back on sugar and caffeine, getting your test tools (pencils, paper, calculator, etc.) in order and avoiding any strange or spicy foods that might throw your stomach into a tailspin.
In addition to these ideas, you should also:
- Review your psychology class notes. By this time, you should have spent quite a bit of time studying and reviewing class materials. Going over your notes one last time before the test will help ensure that the material is fresh in your mind.
- Practice some stress relief techniques. Test anxiety can seriously hurt your exams scores, so spend some time practicing different strategies to relieve your stress. Learn more about some of the stress traps to avoid during midterms and how to overcome test anxiety.
- Get plenty of sleep. While you might be tempted to stay up all night cramming for the test, this strategy can actually backfire. If you go into class so exhausted that you can't stay alert, you are more likely to forget important information.
- Review some good test-taking strategies, such as how to take multiple-choice psychology exams.
