While traditional theories have often held that personality is relatively stable and fixed throughout life, an article in this week's issue of Newsweek describes new research indicating that personality might not be as unchanging as previously thought. According to Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck, our personalities are not set in stone. Changing personal beliefs, Dweck has found, can in turn alter personality.
